The Statement given by the Sportpesa Management said that it was due to a number of matches on the Mega jackpot being cancelled in France.
“Due to unrest in France, three Ligue 1 games that were in the Sportpesa Mega Jackpot have been postponed. In line with our Terms and Conditions, the Mega Jackpot has been cancelled,” read part of the statement.
The matches which were affected were:
1. Angers Vs Bordeaux
2. Nimes Vs Nantes
3. St. Etienne Vs Marseille
The above matches were cancelled as a result of a series of protests over the rise in fuel prices in French major towns.
The French citizens took to the streets in their thousands making the towns slow down, and sometimes leading to total standstills.
The security or feasibility of the matches taking place was therefore put into question leading to the cancellation.
The Sportpesa Management however said that the punters who had placed bets on the Sportpesa Mega Jackpot will be refunded in full.
